Lumea, part of the Transgrid Group, welcomes VicGrid’s Victorian Transmission Plan (VTP) and we look forward to working with the Victorian Government to accel-erate the delivery of their vision for a clean energy future.

Lumea’s Executive General Manager, Craig Stallan, said the VTP is a vital step that will set Victoria on a clear path to a clean energy future.

“The plan reflects the leadership of the Victorian Government and VicGrid in setting out a clear, coordinated pathway for the state’s transmission future, that will not only benefit Victorain households and businesses, but also support the entire National Electricty Maket.”“Lumea is proud to support VicGrid’s energy transition mandate and are well positioned to do more” Mr Stallan said.

The plan will establish seven new REZs to host renewable energy generation such as wind turbines, batteries and solar farms.

Dating back to its delivery of the Deer Park Terminal Station in 2016, Lumea’s strong presence in Victoria is growing. Since then, it has successfully delivered several renewable connection projects in Victoria, including Kiamal Solar Farm, Berrybank 1 and Berrybank 2 Wind Farms.

Lumea is currently delivering the 500kV connection for the Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub (MREH) to support Equis and the State Electricity Commission of Victoria. Once completed, MREH will be the largest battery in the southern hemisphere, providing critical network stability for the south west. After connecting more than 55 renewable energy projects, Lumea is the most experienced connections provider to the National Electricity Market, with a portfolio of over 14GW in renewable energy projects connected or under construction. That’s confidence delivered, your vision, your way.
