What we do

Telecommunications Services

Carrier-grade telecommunications; robust, tailored solutions in data services and colocation across Australia.

Our Telecommunications Services

Two core service pillars underpin Lumea's telecommunications offering, built on infrastructure we own and operate across Australia.

Our Telecommunications Customers

Lumea's energy services cover Lumea's telecommunications network support organisations that Australia's critical infrastructure depends on: the full connection and asset lifecycle, including:

16px-arrow.png    Wholesale carriers: extending reach across our fibre and tower footprint without building new infrastructure.

16px-arrow.png    Government agencies: an approved provider of the NSW Government.

16px-arrow.png    Emergency services: resilient, secure connectivity built on infrastructure that keeps operating through bushfires and floods.

16px-arrow.png    Enterprise businesses: scalable data and internet services from 2Mbps to 800Gbps+.

16px-arrow.png    Renewable energy developers: colocated connectivity alongside the energy connections we deliver for wind, solar and battery projects.

One of Australia's largest independent telecommunications networks

Built on Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) fibre and high-voltage transmission infrastructure, our telco network spans NSW and the ACT, with reach extending into VIC and QLD through our partners and expansion underway as we grow coverage across South Australia.

Why Lumea's fibre network is more resilient

Fibre in the Sky Reliability

Lumea's network runs on an independent optical fibre connection, built to avoid the risks that affect ground-level networks:

  • Aerial or underground fibre, independent of congested terrestrial duct networks.

  • Reduced exposure to extreme weather events such as bushfires and floods.

  • Protected from accidental excavation damage, a common cause of outages for ground-level fibre network connections.

Shielded Fibre

OPGW cables are constructed with a fibre optic core sealed inside multiple layers of aluminium and steel, making it one of the most robust fibre types available.

Regularly Inspected

Aerial drones and helicopters equipped with AI detection software identify risks before they impact our customers.

Bushfire Risk Management

Regular vegetation inspections and maintenance manage overgrowth close to transmission lines that could create bushfire risk.

Physically Secure Towers

Infrastructure is protected by access exclusion zones, anti-climb barriers and fibre positioned 30–65m above the ground to minimise vandalism and theft risk.

An Established Footprint

An existing fibre network of 7,500km across 132 comms towers enables more robust coverage, faster customer connect times and better cost outcomes.

Local Assurance Support, 24/7

A NSW-based Network Operations Centre (NOC) provides 24/7 support.

Proven across Australia's telecommunications network

From fibre expansion to next-generation colocation technology, Lumea's telecommunications team has a track record of delivering telco projects that improve coverage, reduce costs and improve reliability across the network.

Telecommunications FAQs

What telecommunications services does Lumea provide?

Lumea provides carrier-grade data services (Wavelength, Carrier Ethernet, Spectrum and Internet) and wireless colocation across an independent Fibre in the Sky (OPGW) network spanning 7,500km, plus 39,000+ towers available for colocation.

Lumea's network currently spans NSW and the ACT, with telco connectivity extending to partners in VIC and QLD, and expansion underway into South Australia and rural NSW.

We work with wholesale carriers, government agencies, emergency services, enterprise businesses and renewable energy developers who need reliable, secure connectivity.

Our Fibre in the Sky network runs on Optical Ground Wire (OPGW), suspended 30 - 65m above ground on transmission infrastructure - giving genuine diversity from terrestrial fibre and proven reliability during bushfires and floods.
